Annie Neasman Waystation Butterfly Garden
When Annie R. Neasman, former president and CEO of Jessie Trice Community Health System (JTCHS), announced her retirement in 2023, the Jessie Trice Community Health Foundation (JTCHF) Board of Directors gathered to honor her legacy and extend their warmest wishes for her next chapter.
Among the many meaningful tributes presented to Ms. Neasman, one stood out: the dedication of the Annie Neasman Waystation Butterfly Garden, a peaceful haven where Monarch butterflies gracefully alight, offering a space for reflection, renewal and beauty.
Located at the JTCHS – Barbara J. Jordan Health & Wellness Center in Miami Gardens, the garden features two sections: one devoted exclusively to Monarch butterflies, and another filled with plants and fruit-bearing trees. This unique gift makes JTCHS the only health center in the region with its own Monarch Waystation.
Next time you visit our Miami Gardens location, take a moment to enjoy the garden. See how many butterflies you can spot in the Annie R. Neasman Waystation, and while you’re at it, try to guess the fruits and vegetables planted along the path from the parking lot to the building!
